    Shortly after taking this photo in 2014, I became a perfectionist about my diet. I was graduating from culinary school and felt super guilty for eating so much sugar, canola oil, milk, butter, and rice flour throughout the year (luckily, my school let me do the course entirely gluten-free because I’m intolerant).      At first, it felt good to clean up my diet and eat more #Paleo, with whole foods and lower toxins...      But it quickly became somewhat obsessive.      I thought everything was going to cause cancer in my body and that I had to change everything I ate or purchased for my household in order for us not to get sick and fat.       That eventually became a burden on my psyche and on my relationships. I wasn’t a health coach at the time, and I could see how it spiraled out of control...      …that wasn’t the life I wanted to live…      I began to lose a part of myself that wasn’t worth losing.      In the Food Freedom Show, I sat down with @mariamacsay to discuss what it was like to RE-IDENTIFY myself and my relationship with food.     His story just blows my mind. A cancer diagnosis that sentenced him to 3-6 months left to live. He decided to go an unconventional route with cancer treatment to stand a chance at a better quality of life in his remaining months (which turned to years), and he’s the only patient his Oncologist has seen with this sort of success.          You won’t believe his story—we were both brought to tears.           Please share this massive inspiration!     Real Talk: I'm a LIAR. And worse, the person I hurt most with my lies...is ME.         That was quite the bombshell realization for me in life coaching with @handelgroup. Because, I'm not the nasty, sneaky kinda liar...I'm the kind who pretends like everything is okay, or who acts like they don’t have an opinion so that no one’s feathers get ruffled.          Ever since I was young, I’d act in ways that might help other kids accept me or like me: I’d change my personality, my thoughts, my interests, just to fit in or please others.    I never really allowed myself to flourish because I didn’t even know who my true self was…or IS!          My current life coaching homework is to have difficult conversations with those that I love.     No one loves food as much as I do. Let me just say that first. But food doesn't give me dependable energy...daily fasts do. Here are 3 reasons WHY:      1. Digestion is a really big deal. It involves the work of nine organs. 9! It’s an energy-intensive process that we've all been taking advantage of.       2.
